Ian Hunter joins Chartered Land as Director of Pavillions

Ian Hunter of Chartered Land

Chartered Land Limited has announced the appointment of Ian Hunter to the position of Centre Director for the Pavilions, Swords, Co. Dublin.

Ian joins Chartered Land from Marks and Spencer (M&S) where he has led an extensive career since 1989. Prior to joining Chartered Land, he held the position of Store Manager at M&S Blanchardstown. He brings with him almost twenty years of retail experience to the Pavilions, having served with M&S in a variety of roles including Commercial Manager, Facilities Manager and Finance Manager in stores across Ireland and the United Kingdom.

In his new role with Chartered Land, Ian will oversee the smooth-running of the existing Pavilions centre at Swords which will see the centre expand to over 1 million sq ft. Acquired by Chartered Land in 2006 for a record €500 million, the Pavilions made history as Ireland’s largest ever single property deal and is expected to attract over 15 million visitors annually following the completion of Phase III of its expansion.

“I am thrilled to have been appointed as the new Centre Director for the Pavilions at such an exciting time in the scheme’s development. The development plans for the centre represent a tremendous opportunity for the town of Swords and the wider Fingal region and I look forward to the challenges ahead,” said Hunter.

Commenting on his appointment, Dominic Deeny, Chief Executive, Chartered Land, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian to the team at Chartered Land.
His retail experience will contribute significantly towards continuing the successful expansion and development seen to date at the Pavilions. We believe the Pavilions is well on its way to becoming the destination of choice for shoppers in north Dublin and we look forward to working with Ian in developing the centre to its full potential.”
